So I did some more "Maxiumum Ride" fan-art. Here it is. Tah-dah.
I suppose it's average-crummy... I had fun doing it, but there are lots of parts I'm not happy with (I'm sure folks will be "kind" enough to point all the spots out).
Right off it was really hard to jam all six kids into one shot. Think about it: that's a total of 36 limbs, plus heads, to arrange. Granted, I excluded pretty much everyone's legs, and often I'm showing only one wing (the other wing is behind it and hidden, really) but it was still tough.
Then add that I prettymuch suck at drawing people and... well... you don't want to know how many times I redrew everyone's face and hands--and they're still not very good.
I meant it to be a quick sorta loose painting anyway, just fun, without trying to hit accuracy or anything this time around. I think I got skin tones, hair color, and eye color pretty close to what the books say, but I didn't do a big reference search this time around, just checked some old notes I had...
I did have a lot of fun making feather brushes (you only see the results of one feather brush in this piece, but I have some others now that are pretty cool, too, but just didn't fit the piece).
Medium: pen and ink line work, Photoshop CS3 color Time: about 8 hours or so
Disclaimer: Maximum Ride and all associated names yada yada yada belong to Mr. Patterson, but the art is all mine and original. I do not copy from anyone. Art thieves will be fed to the dragon. Thanks.
:3 I like your Max. She looks like she's got somethin' in mind :3. ^^
