It's been ages since I've done Harry Potter fan art, but I've had this piece in mind since I first read the book, months ago. I've finally done it.

I'm happiest with the doe. Other things could be better... as always.

Those who've read the 7th book will recognize the scene (I hope). I know the perspective is strange. It's kind of an abstracted view so I could show what I wanted to show.

All Photoshop CS3 after a pencil sketch. About 12 hours total.

Thanks!! I like the parts you like, too. Love the doe. (She was so easy to do, too, because I could work straight from a photo I had taken of a real doe--no copyright worries! Which is why every artist should also be a photographer--oop! There I go giving away secrets again, bad me)

People are so hard... but he came out "okay" ... ack, people are so hard!! (And I could never do Sev justice anyway. I have to hide my sketches ^^; ) Such sutble details... well, practice makes more perfect.

Lol I know, no copyright worries is so much better, now I'm having Tim take pics of me for human ref. You must have gotten a great deer pic! Ugh people ARE so hard to paint... I've recently discovered that I like painting trees since I found a new Painter brush that does a good job of it. People, however, are forever the thorn in my side! Sev looks good, really. :hug:
